Independent Australian writing

Australian Bidet

The desk

Editorial standards

These rules apply to staff essays and to anything that arrives through the guest-post desk. They exist so a reader in Dubbo and a reader in Fitzroy get the same care.

Australian first

Plumbing law, WaterMark, WELS, electrical work and NDIS practice are not interchangeable with United States or United Kingdom advice. We name the Australian instrument when a claim depends on it. When we describe a Japanese washlet, we say what changes at an Australian GPO and an Australian pan.

Health writing has a ceiling

Guides in the health and hygiene hub and the accessibility hub explain common questions. They are not diagnoses, prescriptions, or substitutes for a GP, continence nurse or occupational therapist. We do not promise that a bidet will treat disease.

Products and money

We are not a shop. If a future essay includes a paid link, gifted fixture, or guest commercial mention, the relationship is disclosed and the anchor uses rel="sponsored". See the sample markup on the write-for-us page.

Sources and images

Prefer primary documents over blog recaps. Photographs must be Creative Commons or public domain, self-hosted, credited on the page and listed on the credits page.

Corrections

If we get a fact wrong — a licence rule, a bolt spacing, a funding category — we correct the article and note the update date. Send evidence through the contact form. The about page explains who we are writing for.

Links

Navigation and body links are real <a href> elements with descriptive anchor text. We do not leave pages unreachable from the rest of the site. The guide index and topic hubs are the two maps.
